    Tailgate stregnth

How much weight can the tailgate hold? I have a motorcycle that weighs 400 pounds i'm wondering if I can put it up there to transport it.

As long as your steel cable isn't junk like mine, you should be fine. Even then it would still be alright I'm sure.

The wheelbase of the bike is longer than the tailgate. I pictured the tailgate being bigger in my head.

I think it would f'up the tailgate...

A hitch mount carrier would be nice for an application like that.

Bike was too long anyway, i've heard horror stories of those hitch mounted things. But, that was from a bunch of harley guys, those things weigh ALOT.

Yeah, a harley can be like half a ton...need a class 3 or better hitch and a really good rack for one of those.

They make trailers for a reason you know. You might even be able to rent one from U-haul.
