    Getting track ready...

I'm planning on taking the tudor up to Atlanta for the panther meet in November. I'd like to have the car a little more track-ready by then, but I'm not sure how much I can accomplish in that short time. I'm already planning to remove the back seat, and maybe the A/C and smog equipment. I'm also looking for a set of gears. Does anybody have any suggestions or comments about what I can do to run a little better by November? (Carb and/or engine swap is out of the question for now)

get a decent motor, trans, stall converter and some 4.10's, get rid of the smog crap, get an electric fan, pull the interior out, rip up all the sound deadening crap, put the Full interior back in. Manual seat tracks (if it has power ones) Cut the bumper supports.

Just remember, if you want to run at the SSHS you have to be over 3800lbs. I wouldn't go too crazy ripping stuff out. I'd leave the full interior and A/C. Looks better when you beat people with full interior, and not too embarassing when you get beat by a quicker car with a full interior.

These vehicles supposedly have a curb weight of only 3700 lbs as it is. So I would check your weight before you start stripping if you want to race in SSHS. Yes, MRLTD, not all of us are cool enough to actually have a 2 ton waggon :p

Mike, is the 3800 with or without driver. Jumbo Friendly is a pretty big guy, so if it is with driver he could take out some more weight.

Also i predict a good number of 05-06 Mustangs there this year, they are weighing in at around 3800 now.

Sorry accoring to edmunds they are 3488. Add 200 for driver thats 3688, if the car has a blower add 70 so around 3750. If you start adding subframe connectors and stuff like that the extra 50#s is easy to come by. A plain nitrous system is around 35#s

This year it is 4000# WITH driver.

I might have a trailer by then, but id need about 200-300#s of ballast, and need to change valve springs so i can spin over 4500 RPM
