    {ENGINE}302 emissions components

heres my emmision question for my 1981 mercury marquis brougham with a 2 barrel carb, motorcraft 2750 if i recall with electric choke...i got rid of the catilitic converters and smog pump with the check valve that was hooked up to it. now i have a whole bunch of messy useless vac hoses and the thermactor valve. what hoses do i get rid of and plug off? what do i do with the thermactor valve?

cant help you with the hoses but the holes in the back of the heads for the thermactor can be pluged with a 5/8-11 X 1"bolt

You can also cut the ends off the tubes (where they bolt up) and bolt the ends back on, but backwards so they block off the holes...

dont i jus need the basic vac advance and a few vac hoses going to the carb, or does this model require other kina hose routing?and thnx for the info on the thermactor!

when we assembled my windsor the heads were put on backwards, with the open thermactor holes towards the front on the motor i was able to remove one of the adapter sleeves from the back and put it in the drivers side front for the bracket to bolt to, so i had to block off both Therm. holes in the passenger side head, i just need to find a 90deg. fitting to go in the manifold to pull vac for the brakes and my vac.,emissions plumbing is done
