    Factory CD player...

    Anyone know anything about these?

I saw these in the radio manual for my '90, and I want one. I don't have premium sound, so I don't know if it will plug in?

Depending on the connector, it'll be plug and play. Also would help if you got the pinout of the player or the other side of the harness from a car that had one.

That one on ebay is from a Mark VII, guess I'll look thru them at the junkyard for one. Were they available on all Ford vehicles? Never seen one in a CV/GM. So I should cut the wires and take the plugs and all?

i pulled one from a 1994 SHO that is in the 91 merc, witch however has premium sound so it plugged right in...except fro a wire that i coulden figure out what it was till i found out it had to be hooked to the power wire on the harness.

I think there might just be one of those at skip's place supplied by David. Not 100% on that. I do know there is the factory under-dash CD player mount for a Townie there. Those old cd players kinda suck in all honesty. They might look cool but they dont really have any anti-skip protection and burned CDs can be iffy. I had this really old tray load CD player in my Beetle, an Alpine I think, and it would skip if you farted in the car.
