    94 marquis won't shift

my car won't shift into gear .. i've checked the shift tube and its fine .. anything else to check ?

    #2
linkages under the car? remove cover from steering column and make sure nothing has come loose and is inhibiting the shifter from moving. I think I recall someone mentioning a screw or something that worked loose but I don't remember it was a while ago on a different board.

The shifter moves through the whole range, but the transmission doesn't engage?

      - or -

Does the shifter come out of park?

Yeah the cables can break. Hey its 12 years old, stuff happens. teamfordparts.com should be able to get you the replacement, and so can the local dealership if yours isn't staffed by idiots.

The cables in our work trucks were notorious for that shit.
