    Howdy!

    Hello everyone.

My name is Joe and I have a medium charcoal 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis with 125,000 miles and the original F.I. 302/AOD combo. I recently got this car from an old woman to replace my 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that bit the dust after 300,000 faithful miles and have been steadily working on/improving it ever since. So far I have shampooed the interior, replaced the passenger side window motor, put on new front tires, done a tune up, repaired some rust holes in the trunk and touched up the paint to the best of my limited ability. Future plans include:

    Freer flowing exhuast
New air intake (have to find one that accommodates the MAF)
Take off wheels (Newer Marquis? Mustang? Who knows?)
Re-clearcoat the hood, roof and trunk. (Old clear is toasted right off.)
    Four wheel alignment

That's all the plans I have so far as tuition seems to be sucking the life force out of my budget, but I may do some other stuff as I come across it. I'll post pics if anyone is interested. Neat site and keep up the good work.

I think you will enjoy the vic better than the olds
And the 85's haver CFI and have nothing to do with MAF - you can put a fancy air cleaner on it but thats about it.
Or are you talking about upgrading the fuel/intake system to SEFI MAF? Ive thought about that myself

Blah, my bad. I'm a former steering and suspension tech so I've never spent that much time under any hoods. Though the thought of converting to SFI is intriguing.

Welcome to our place. Try to get some pics of your car. If you want to mod your car, a good place to start is the exhaust. Then maybe 3.27 or 3.55 gears. Have fun with your project.

steering and suspention eh??? Turns out there are good steering and brake mods/upgrades to do to these cars, and we've found polyurethane suspention bushings that work for our suspention too.
You'll find lots of info on that here
