    Monsters in the instrument panel.

I think after 209k miles the speedometer has worn out. It still works fine, but I can hear the rattle-rattle of the gears inside there. I'm almost positive that's what it is because it coincides exactly with the speed of the car. Anyone else had this happen? I might just have to replace the speedo.

PS - These cars have electrically or cable-controlled speedos?

your is cable driven, it may just need to be lubed. Is your odometer working?

Mine seems to make more noise when it's cold out. The squeeking/squeeling changes with the speed. My odometer works but the tripometer doesn't completetly line up when I reset it. I bought a replacement but haven't switched it yet.

my trip odometer has to be reset a couple times to make it line up sometimes. once all the zeros line up, it stays that way.
