Pics of new paint & blown motor

After further inspection of the blown motor, I found a huge crack in the front of the block to the left of the timing cover. The pics will explain it all.

Also, the cam shaft was sticking out about an inch or so from the front of the motor

PS - The crank was a forged 4340 Eagle crank. Well find out for sure if the crank was the cause of the problem, or if something else caused the crank to break when we take it apart.

Looks really good, and really horrific.

Did the block crack at all around the cam/oil galley?

Nice al. ASP pulley. I opted for steel.

The car looks great. The engine not so much. Good luck with the rebuild or whatever you plan on doing.

                          400+HP +Stock 302 = a split block.

The block split first, which took out the crank. Thats why i wont go a forged crank in a stock block

You need a 69 or 70s block before they took the weight out and lightened the crank. Ran those blocks and cranks for years with 400 to 470 HP turninng 9000 RPM never broke a crank, block, rod or piston. Bottom ends were stock except ballanced and APR main and rod bolts. Used both stock and forged pistons.
