    1992 Town Car no-start

A friend of mine tried to wire in a switch for his amp. The short of it is, he shorted his electrical system. All the fuses under the hood have power. Half of the fuses under the dash have power. The only wire that was melted was the new wire that went to the switch. All the other wires are normal. Are there fusable links on his car? What else to check?

Id say start from the amp and trace all the wires back under the hood and once you get under the hood there should be all sorts of fuses and relays that coulda blew.....as far as what else to check? hard to say with out having one myself. Check everything over and over sometimes we could miss somthing small.......Hey anybody have a wiring diagram for him? That would be more help then my useless commentary

it probably fried one of the underhood fuses......check them again, or shorted out a terminal on the power distribution block

if they're circuits that are only supposed to have power with the key on, maybe the ignition switch fried?

It cranks over, buy will not fire now. Has fuel, inertia switch is not tripped. I'll go to his shop tonight and check it over for him. Had to diagnose when the car is 75 miles away
