    Body work routines

Here's crazy willy t's routine for body work:

This should always be followed to the "t". Unless you've got some appropriate variation to #1. Hopefully this might be of some help to you guys.

#1: Body work is usually easier done with a moderate buzz. Drink a couple beers, toke a fatty, do whatcha gotta do, it usually helps.

#2: Get rid of rust! whatever area of the car you might be working on, grind that rust out! Get a good electric or air grinder, if the rust goes right through, dont worry, you can fix holes.

#3: Find a good Body Shop Supplier. Good products are they key to a good job.

#4: Sand down paint around the surrounding area of the spot being fixed. You wanna make sure theres no rust creeping underneath the paint.

#5: On anything more than just a scratch, use heavyweight filler (duraglass, marglass...) if you've got holes, try long n strong, tigerhair, or patch it with fiberglass cloth and resin or jelly.
You can usually build up heavy fillers pretty thick without problems, as long as they're mixed properly.
    Sand heavy fillers with 80grit

#6: Fill small depressions and scratches (less than 1/8" deep) with lightweight filler (feather-rite, blue ice....). sand with 150grit.

#7: spray a primer "guide coat". This will let you get an idea of whats gonna show when paint hits the bodywork.
You might think it looks good, but paint knows the truth! you can also run water over the area as a substitiute for primer, it has the same effect.

#8: Fill any sand scratches with Polyester filler, Really lightweight stuff, dries fast, sands easy, then repeat the guide coat process. then you're ready for primer, sealer, and paint.

I'll give my theories on paint in another one of these things.
