stereo hookup

I've looked around ..im looking for some help.i just pulled a panasonic cd player out of my 92grand marquis and im looking to install a kenwood cd player. both cd players have :batt, acc, grnd..but the new deck im installing (got it from a buddy) has afew extra wires such as labeled ('illum' + 'p.control') im wondering if i can hook up the deck without those wires be connected. or what those wires would even be for..they come from the wiring harness and are currently connected in the car im pulling it out of. thanks a lot.

ok, i found out the 1 labeled 'p. cont' is my remote wire..but there is also 1 blue wire that i do not know what it is used for?
still wondering about the "ILLUMI", it is a orange wire, with a white stripe.

could it be for the auto dimming feature

actually yeah, it might be that. but i wouldnt know what to hook that up to?

it doesn't need to be hooked up. It is only for cars equipped with auto dimming feature, just tape it up and tuck it away
