is iit possible to cut the back bumpers?

i'm watching a repeat of overhaulin. they're doing up a 63 falcon , and the back bumpers have spots for teh tips cut out. i wa sthinking Chrisitne would look classy with the bumper trimmed on both sides with marauder tipss.

ideas, like or dislike?

Id be kinda cool but would start a place for rust to develop. Fordinator did something really cool with his bumpers, he tucked it in so it pulled close to the body. It looks really clean, eliminating the filler panels.
