    New alternator did something wierd.

So ya.. out of no where I do a u-turn in a neighborhood and got on it a little bit.. the transmission downshifted, and everything dimmed and lights on my dash came on.. the voltmeter went up all the way to H and there was a high pitched winding noise... I let off, and after a second or 2 it all went back to normal.. Wierd.....

Does this have something to do with the belt or tensioner?

I put a new alt on my car, it was bad a month later. One on the truck lasted about 6 weeks and I wasnt driving it much, one of the diodes went bad and the voltage started jumping all over the place. Tested fine on the machine, but another new one fixed the problem anyway.
