    Rough Idle

I got im my car this morning to go to work. And it almost stumbled and died...Its been idling rough every once in a while but this time it was really bad..Im thinking its either the EGR valve or MAF because its throwing a engine light at 80mph

The engine light only appears for a couple of seconds then goes away

Go to autozone, have em scan it for free. Im guessing a faulty IAC cause my towny does the same thing but I dunno. Just get it scanned.

What year is your car? The older 4.6 with the aluminum intake had problems with the EGR channels plugging up, and it would do random CEL and running like crap on the highway stuff.

Under the throttle body. You have to take the elbow off and you will see the channels that will be gunked up.

                            How-to clean the EGR channels:

                            http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00015.html

Excessive EGR flow at/near idle will cause the engine to stumble and stall. Check operation of the EGR vacuum solenoid, PFE/DPFE connections and hoses as well.
