Torque Converter Question

What stall speed is our stock torque converter in our cars??

Not sure, but unless you have a heavily modified engine, you will be slower on take off and loose some mpg.

Because this cam im looking at requires a computer tune (diablosport delta chip) and a 2000 stall torque converter

read up on that. I don't know the exact stall speed. Which cam are you looking at? Sounds like comp 274's or equivalent.

I recently installed comps' XE268H cams and then a 3200RPM 10 inch converter.

If you're putting cams in then it would be worthwhile. Thats some serious scratch tho.

I was thinking because its such a big heavy car it had a 2000rpm stall stock

I would imagine much lower...from what I was told/understand, a lot of companies put low stall speeds in so that the cars move easy. there is a way to test it if you have a Tach...
just brake torque, but not enough gas to burnout, just a little...when you feel the car start to push against the brakes, that's your stall speed..mine's around 1000 stall...pushes at 800rpm I think...

After my cam install the stock converter seemed like it would NEVER disengage. Stoplights was either neutral or a stern foot on the brake pedal. Be careful if you go with an aftermarket converter. I'm not too terribly impressed with my 3200RPM 10 inch stage 2 converter that I paid friggin $600 for. I'm hoping the new computer programming will take care of it.
