    antifreeze smell

A new heater core was put in last week. I get an antifreeze smell from the heater while it is still blowing cold. Once the car warms up and it starts blowing warm air, the smell seems to go away.

Could I be dealing with a leaky core or is it possible that there is a residue in the vents from the previous core? I'm getting tired of spending money.

It is probably previous residue in the vents. It was like that in my Old S-10 when I had to replace it and it was like that for a couple of weeks but then it went away.
