    Speedo Gears Thread

here's what I would like to see...

A Stickied Thread about all the different Speedo Driven gears for the Boxes...wouldn't hurt to have this for Aeros and Whales as well..

the way I think would be best is to have them shown not only by tooth number, but also color. wouldn't hurt to have part #s/links as well.

this way, whoever is putting gears in their Box can find out what gear to get to keep the speedo accurate.

I dunno if this is necessary, but it would also help to show if your going from one set of gears to another...show the correct gear in that case. such as:

    going from 2.73s to 3.55s requires 23T gear(orange)

                        Doesn't the search function work?

I think I also have a link to the info and the info posted in the faq in the drivetrain/suspension forum.

I've had to run a purple with 3.55 gears when I had a later model transmission. Oddly, the purple gear came from the Mark VII the trans came out of, and it did have 3.27 gears. My car now runs an orange gear with 3.55 rear. Depends on the year of the transmission what number of driven teeth you have, and that affects the speedo gear required.

It has to do with the drive gear that is actually on the transmission, as well. There are 7, and 8 tooth versions.
