    cracked tire sidewall

This is regarding the front tires which were purchased in May of 2003. There are less than 7,000 miles on the front tires.

When I put my Cooper Cobras on today I noticed that the front tires are cracked on the sidewall around the rim. Is this something I should be worried about?

I know a couple of you here run the Cooper Cobras. Have you had any problems with these cracks?

Take em back and tell them you want new ones. There rotten so theyve been sitting for a while in a warehouse. My dad had a set of coopers that did that once. At 7000 miles they shouldnt not do that. Its simply unaceptable

The cracks are very noticeable and large enough to make me worry. I'll try and get a pic up tomorrow.

That is why I buy Goodyear or Firestone/Bridgestone or even Hoosier if I can get a decent price.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Ya glad you got those things replaced. My brother had a 1988 s-10 blazer and he had General tires on it (an off brand of Firestone) and this was around all the explorer rollovers. He had those little cracks and he didn't think much about it and he was on the interstate doing 75 and the tread separated from the tire and wrapped around the rear axle locking up that tire and flipped his truck on its side. So he got a free set of tires from there company and had them on his truck for alittle bit till he saved up for some BFG's. Did you keep the old tires so you can go smoke them off?

They kept the old ones. They marked the cracks and made a bunch of notes about them. It seems as though they took it pretty seriously.
