body shops -- what to look for?

I'm planning on getting new vinyl put on my girl sometime this year. The current top is cracked badly from hail. Also planning to get some paintless dent repair on the roof.

Is there anything I should watch for when finding a body shop that will do it? Any certain questions I should ask?

I plan to start going around to get estimates and get a feel for what's out there in the near future. All info is appreciated.

Go to a specialist for the vynil top. It's what they do and they're cheaper. Check out the phone book.

There's a guy who does it in his garage in my parent subdivision.

I found a body shop that will do the vinyl. ~$400 parts and labor. The only other place I found wanted $1,000. I'm still looking, though.

For another $400 he said they could pull and grind out the hail dents on the front half of the cab. I might hold off on that and just get the vinyl done first. I'm still looking for someone who can do paintless dent repair for a fair cost. I don't like the "drill and pull the dents out" idea. Either way, it will cost.

I might check some places tomorrow.
