    stereo's and heater's

so, i am looking at putting in a little bit of a system, and am kind of eyeballing the pioneer avic-n1. is it posible to swap the stereo and heater controls or is there no easy bolt and swap?

i think you would have to do a lot of customizing.......heater cable#1

I had an Eclipse DVD head in the Vic, The stock location was perfect. Any lower would have sucked for everyone to see the LCD screen.

i was just wondering, cause if i get a flipout, i dont want it getting stopped from hitting the dash, if that makes sense.

Hmmm. my HU had two positions for reach and 6 angle adjustments. Without those, it would have hit the dash sticking out under the clock. Better make sure the Avic-N1 fits okay somehow. I know it tilts, but will it clear the dash without a hideous adapter?

well, the avic isnt my first choice, but it is still under consideration when i'm ready. i like it cause of the built in gauges.

i am also considering power acoustik as well.

with some modding you could put a double din in it. I put a AVIC-D2 into '87 MGM without moving the heater controls. I will try to post pics tonight so you can get an idea.

I don't know as HOW it would be done, I bought a Kenwood Headunit (Din Size) and it came with a adapter and it was too big, took the adapter off and it works nice and flush, it also came with a cover ring that hides the gaps......Best of luck......

Well just in case someone else was thinking of doing it. I had to cut about 1/8" - 1/4" from the top of the ac/heater controls.

no took a dash kit for '03 up GM (metra PN 99-2003) cut the stock dash plate to fit the dash kit flush. then glued it to the dash. then used bondo to feather the seams. and last sprayed flat black paint. everything behind the dash plate was removed. It took one day to put it in (had to wait for glue, bondo, paint to dry) the radio is mounted to the dash plate.

Thanks, This is what I am known for. taking something others say can't be done or can't make it look like crap, and make it seem the manufacturer wanted it there.
