Such a NoOb Q I HAD to post it here.

What should I expect to pay for a Dyno pull ?

What exactly does a car go through on a dyno ?

I have watched a ton of youtube pulls. So I notice there is a low rpm event and a HIGH rpm event..What happens right then ?

$50 bucks for a WOT run that may destroy your motor.

There's a place called Baker Engineering over in Nunica that will let you do a couple of test runs for $50.

the dyno puts a load on the car and it's run from the lowest RPM possible in 3rd gear to the maximum rpm. The dyno figures out the hp and tq from how quickly the car can accelerate the dyno rollers.

3rd is 1:1 drive ratio, so no torque multiplication in the transmission.

if you get in with a group you can get lower rates. i paid $30 for two pulls.

you pull the car onto the rollers and either they operate the car or you do it. but you pull from the bottom of third (you can also do it from other gears, some turbo cars do this to load the motor better) to your redline. it is no harder on your motor than punching it on the interstate.
