    Headers

Here i am with another recommendation question. What would you guys do for headers?

    #2

BBK shorty headers for '86-'93 Mustangs. Though you can also check in the 5.0L/5.8L Tech forum for other recommendations.

BBK shorty headers are preferred, they dont really warp and become a pain if you ever have to remove them and reinstall.

equal length shortys are a pain in the ass to do tune-ups when needed and have to watch out for your plug wires.

Just know that NONE are direct bolt on. O2 sensor harnesses will need lengthening, bungs for the O2 sensors will need t obe added to the exhaust, and the exhaust will need to be modified to have the headers fit. YOu will also need to find a way to attach your dispstick, air filter box, and some othe things I am forgeting.

get a air filter setup like the picture in my signature and you wont need the airbox or bracket for it

I'd get shorty's and header wrap to help keep things cool under that hood. And you will need a new H or X pipe and also the wiring for the o2 censors need to be lengthened to fit the H or X pipe. I'd start looking for headers used and a used H or X pipe.

if you buy used headers, you probably don't want individual flange headers unless they're stock Ford ones. The flanges tend to get warped and you'll have a hard time installing them. The stock Ford ones however don't seem to have this problem.

As and aside: will equal length headers indeed fit? Any thoughts on whether they'd fit a 351 car?
