Larger sway bars for 1992-2007 Panthers...

If you could have larger diameter sway bars than the current ones from Addco, what front & rear size bar would you like?

    (Addco's front is Ø1-1/4" & rear is Ø1")

(2003-2007 can use Addco's Tubular bars:

    front at Ø1-3/8" & rear at Ø1-1/8")

I have worked on getting 1-3/8 for the front & 1-1/4 for the rear. Is anyone interested?

mrltd is using a 98-02 front addco bar on his 89 with big brakes.....he really likes it

superlincoln (88 towny) has a 98-02 pi front bar and endlinks with big brakes it handles quite well also.......92-95 cars have different front bars but the addco one for 98-02 will fit 79-02 need 96-02 spindles to use the 96-02 stock bars

1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

please be patient, rebuilding an empire!

Interesting, I didn't know that the newer bars would work on the older cars.
You mentioned "79-02 need 96-02 spindles", wouldn't endlinks from the bar to the lower control arm work?

the newer style sway bar end links connect to spindle not the control arms like the older style. the newer control armscan use an older bar because the newer arms have the holes for the old style endlinks

the lower control arm changed only slightly from 79-02 the92- 02 arms still have the holes for the sway bar links

              So, is this correct?

If the lower control arm(LCA) has the hole in it for sway bar & spindle has the hole for the sway bar, either style of endlinks would work depending on the sway bar end.
Older style bar end having a horizontal tab, prior to 2003 and would mount to LCA. Newer style sway bar end having a vertical tab, after 2003, would mount to steering knuckle spindle.

I m slightly confused it could be me just being retarded but anyway doesnt hurt to ask. If I wanted to put a 98-02 Addco Sway bar on what would I need to do, puting this on the 86 by the way?

Yup. Sounds right, at least for the 02 back cars. I haven't been under a 03+

There is clearance issues on the 91 and earlier cars though. I'd bet money a stock 79-91 with an 98-02 addco will have interference issues. The only reason mine doesn't it the high spring rates. I've got 1000lb/in springs on the front. The addco is bent much differently than the stock 98-02 bar.

right the addco uses the old (79-91) style endlinks that you can get anywhere. the 91+ bar uses the specific endlinks that bolt to the spindle

The endlink length for the 79-91 and 92-02 are different. The boxes use shorter ones. I used the stock ones from my car. I have the new ES links for the 92+ sitting on the shelf.

Duce, the 98-02 Addco bar bolts to the lower control arm. They were breaking the stock spindle mount endlinks. They had to revert to the stronger early setup.

right, the stock 92+ sway bar attaches to the spindle, the addco's use the LCA mount.

that ENS endlink you have, is that the one for a stock 92+? (the one that attaches to the spindle)

Nah, oldschool one. It's the one the addco comes with, or they recommend using. It's just a bit longer than the box one.

The addco seemed a bit wider than the stock bar on my car. Not horrible, but noticable on the angle of the endlinks. I'll get pics eventually.
