    Find/ Replace motors

    1986 Grand Marquis LS Coupe

My antenna, passenger door lock, and passenger window motors are dead. I want replace them but was wondering what everyone's thougths were on aftermarket replacements. I have heard that they are inferior to the oem (Motorcraft) motors. I would prefer to stick with oem but am also having a problem locating the parts as the car is almost 20. Thanks

I have not gotten any of those parts new yet, only junkyard.

Its possible your window motor might only need new bushings - check out my thread at the top of this forum. You could get a junkyard motor and test it on the lot, but it could die soon as well.

Working door lock motors for the front are hard to find... if you look at a junkyard, try the manual locks... they will tell you if they are siezed.

I dont have a power antenna, but Id try a junkyard one first too

Thanks, I'm hoping to take some trips to better junkyards. The only one in my area that has late model cars only has about 5 GM's and 7 CV's.
