Is there a radio noise capacitor on your alternator? Is it bad?

Not very helpful, but sure to become a GMN classic!

I second, the notion that the radio is dying.

The 76 Marquis we used to have whined on the low end of the band. The longer you drove, the higher the dial had to be to get away from the whine. Eventually it whined across the whole band. Radio went into the dumpster and a new Blaupunkt auto-reverse cassette deck (hey it was 1987) fixed the whining problem for good.
