I need in-depth info on the current Panther driveline.

Rear Axle
Brake disc size

Got a nutty idea and need to know if the 06 and up are the exact same stuff or how far the current dive lines go back.

Also can one drop the 03-04 Cobra head on the current panther production 4.6 block?

I can't give you any useful info on the specs of the newer cars, but you should be able to put Cobra heads on a new block. The Mustang and Panther use the same block, don't they?

The mustangs used the same everything as the Police Interceptors.

i dont know. would you need a new chain tensioner and timing chain cover?
im sure the tranny is stil 4R70W or 4R75W
and gears should be 3.08 or 3.27
they upgrade in brakes that i know of was in 03+ panthers.
and i dont think theyve changed the engine much.

ok, here goes.

you can put cobra heads on the new newer block. however the older 4.6's require some modificationings. i'm not exactly sure the extent of the mods, but it can be done (i think it's actually just swapping over the pi intake and timing setup)

the 4r70w trans a 4r70w is a 4r70w (well, ok, except 4x4 trucks :P)

rear end is a an 8.8.

my suggestion, find a wrecked markviii and drop the eng/trans in!

IIRC a DOHC won't fit in anything older than an 03. Without a ton more work that is.

Actually the current transmission is a 4r75w..And yes 2v heads and 4v heads will bolt on a 08-91 block. 3v heads will not work on the old block they have a propriatary block.

The current axle is a 8.8 with 31 spline axles
