    Tank stalled this morning

i went out to brush the snow off the car. it started right up. i turned defrost and rear defrost up, and then went about cleaning the car.
    it idled for about 5mins.
i get in, everything is good.
i put it in reverse and it dies.
    weird.
i try to start it again. it just turns and turns and turns.
i did that about 5 times, til there was a little chuga-chuga.
i stopped, then cranked on it, and it barely started.
    right after, it ran fine.
its been starting fine for the rest of the day.
fuel filter? unplugged fuel pump/sender unit?
    that only happened once.
i just want to know if anyone else had that problem, or if it as just random.
(i did just have the fuel tank out last weekend)
    thanks peeps.

i've heard of funky connections to the crank sensor causing that. Maybe try cleaning those if a fuel filter doesn't help.

my car did that last winter. turns out it was still using the original plugs, wires and distributer cap and fuel filter. stupid me for not checking/replacing them when i got the car.
      What happened here?

i will check the crank sensor.
i replaced the plugs, wires, and coils a year ago, with MSD, E3 and Ford Racing stuff.
thanks though, i will go check it out.

            **UPDATE***

            **UPDATE**
hokay, so, besides the broken foot thing, the tank finally pooed out this morning.
i was pulling out of the drive way, got in the street, put it in drive and, it died. put it in neutral, cranked it, gave it gas, then it fired up. and then died. after 4 or 5 starts like that, it idled fine. put as soon as you put it in drive, it died. from neutral, it dies whether it goes to drive or reverse. in order to pull it into the driveway, i started it in neutral, gave it some gas, then neutral bombed it into drive and took off into the driveway.
which is why im here right now and not at work.
            is it the crank sensor?
            i need some input

Make sure the crank sensor is not loose or anything.

ok. looks like the consensus is the crank sensor. ill have the girlfriend go out and fix it later today. broken foot+ crutches + snow = bad times.
i had to take today off because of the problem. now i have a reason to get right on it.
                thanks peoples!
