    460 in a Box

I've been loving owning my Mercury, but the engine is too small.

How hard would it be to drop a 460 into a Box?

I was planning on aquiring a junkyard 460 and rebuilding it slowly. I assume I'd need a C6 tranny?

I basically want a box with a BB and no smog. A sleeper if you will. Stock hubcaps and everything. Ideas?

nvm, I'm just being a stupid dreamer. The car is great how it is and I'd be insane to change it.

It would probably be easier to build up your 302.

it aint a big deal if you can fab the motor mount brackets. there was a box vic on ebay a while back that had a BBF in it. and yes you need a C6, one out of a truck witch is more bullit proof.

would it be possible to put a truck 460 4-5 speed in it instead of a auto, or would that be too big and pointles too do ???

Someone on CVN did it, wasn't very impressive. The stroker 351W was more impressive. One of the fastest box vics around is powered by a stroker 302.

I've got a big initial investment in parts, but i'm doing a Tremec TKO and built 545 stroker in my 2dr...

It's doable, but not a beginner project for sure!!

Hard? Depends on how you define hard...

Mostly it's modifiying Mustang parts along with a lot of trial & error.

I'm building a 700hp 545 for my tudor GMQ, we shall see how it works.

Chassis is going to require the obvious work.
