    Problem after Intake Swap

So I swapped the intake manifold. I hooked everything back up, hit the switch to run and fired it up. It idled fine for a few second then started surging. I looked at my volt guage and it was maxed out in the red. I shut it off, started it back up and the engine idled smooth and I watched the guage go all the way to the red again and started to surge.

I screwed up and had the PCV vale hose switched accidently with the one next to it and corrected it.

    Started back up, same problem.

Everything worked prior to taking it down for the swap.

    Any help?

Disconnected alternator and it works just fine. Guess the voltage regulator is bad??

Did the alternator charge fine before you did the intake swap? Sounds like maybe some wires got crossed.

Possibly the electronics glitching because of the overvolt id betchya. The running rough id place money was a vacuum leak, but i guess it works fine now.
