Hey Guys,

My 99 Grand Marquis has developed a bit of a weird problem. When I'm braking, and under 30km/h there is a click sound coming from the rear driver's wheel. When I release the brakes, it stops, and it doesn't click when accelerating.

I changed the alumium "old man" wheels to steel police wheels, and the problem semed to start after that (maybe a coincidence??) Initially, I had a similar sound coming from the front wheel, but it was loose lug nuts. I ran out and paid a fortune for enough proper police lug nuts to replace 3 of the 5 on each wheel. Problem seemed to be solved for awhile. However, the nuts are all tight, and I'm still getting a click. Any ideas? Thanks.

Dave

Has drums for parking brakes.

...but his sound goes away when he lets off the brake, and whether he's braking or not shouldn't have an effect on the parking brake emitting noises

ah - I missed the 1999 part... could be a cracked rotor or bad slide pin.
