    The wa-gone plans

Well, here's the plan for the Truckster....

96 Explorer complete NEW engine (Gt-40 heads, Explorer Intake)
    Comp cams XE264HR Cam
    Motorsport shortie headers
    2.5" exhaust
    Mark 7 ECU
    Wide ratio AOD (eventually)
    26-2800 stall
    3.73 Trak-loc
    110 lph fuel pump
    19 lb injectors
    Underdrive crank pulley
    98+ brake conversion
    Stiffer front springs

    and whatever else it needs....

The engine *should* hopefully make 300 at the flywheel. I'll see what happens. Still debating on getting the heads cleaned up before the motor goes in. It's only another 500 bucks....

    Update 6/21/06:
    19's are ditched for 24's
    80mm MAF from a Mark 8
A9P Mass Air computer from auto stang
    2003 Marauder Air box
    2004 Vic PI Intake tube
    1990 towncar driver side fenderwell
1990 Towncar coolant tank, washer bottle, and fan shroud.

OK, I was all wrong about which cam I am getting. I was saying the XE 266 roller from comp cams. That's not it. The 264 is the one that has the 114* lobe separation. It's got alot less lift than the 266 also.

    The 264 is 264/270 212/218@.050 with 512/512 lift

    The 266 is 266/274 216/224@.050 with 544/555 lift

So, the 264 is much more SD friendly, and the heads don't flow much over .500 anyway... Though it's really not much more than a stock HO cam.

Sent the wrong EGR back today, bought another one. Better be right this time. Cam and stuff was delivered last thursday. Got the sawybar on saturday, did the poly upgrade on the front swaybar. Painted up the valve covers, and worked on polishing the accessory brackets.

Got some work done on the car and motor over the weekend. Put the 140 speedo in, put the Grant GT wheel, started steam cleaning the interior and cleaned up the dash. Man that car is insanely dirty. The interoir looks so much better now...

The engine got torn down, and got the new camshaft in. It still needs to be reassembled. I still need to paint/polish the accessories, valve covers, and oil pan. Hopefully I'll get it done this weekend. The rear axle should also be done this week too, so I might get that installed this weekend.

The same day I put the speedo in, the cable broke. Had to get another cable. Surpisingly Adavance Auto had everything I needed in stock.
