    top and headliner question

I need to replace the headliner and the vinyl top on my car. I have a full vinyl roof, but I was planning on doing it later if at all possible. Does the headliner need to come out for any reason to replace that roof or what? Mostly I'm curious because I don't want to do the headliner only to have to remove it to get the top redone.

Does the full vinyl top have that strip of chrome across the top? If so, then the headliner has to come down in order to get that strip of chrome trim off. I believe there are some sort of clips or nuts holding the trim on.
