    Air Bag System Monitor

Can someone tell me where this is located on a 90 Colony Park? My Air Bag warning light on the cluster has been flashing for many years and want to narrow my search down to a MIN. Not even sure this is it, just would like to know.

Any help, comments would be appreciated!

    Thanks.

How many blinks? There is a 10 code diagnostic output, if its blinking, just count them and it will tell you whats wrong.

    Code Component Fault/Description
2 All Primary Crash Sensors Disconnected.
3 Air Bag Deployment Circuit - Low Battery Voltage or Low Backup Power Supply Voltage
4 Safing Sensor - Diagnostic Circuit Open or Low Primary Crash Sensor Resistance
5 Air Bag Circuit or Crash Sensor Circuit - Shorted to Ground
6 Driver-Side Air Bag Circuit - Open or High Resistance
7 Passenger-Side Air Bag Circuit - Open or High Resistance
8 Primary Crash Sensor - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
9 Primary Crash Sensor Circuit - Open or High Resistance
10 Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse - Open Due to Intermittent Short to Ground

If you have a code 10, you need to find what caused the short, otherwise a replacement module will fail on you.

man... I really appreciate the info. here, this should help me out alot. ummm, I'm sure it doesn't blink 10 times... I'm think 5 times or less though.

Would you happen to know where this module is located?

      Yeah... thanks for the help.

Ok... I looked at it closer and the Air Bag light blinks 9 times... Primary Crash Sensor Circuit - Open or High Resistance

Is this the sensor mounted right behind the front grill that is causing my problems? What does Open or high Resistance mean? Is this a ground issue?

Is there any other sensors besides the one in the front... any on the sides?

        Thanks!

Yeah... it's plugged in. A few months ago I was in the junkyard and decided to pick up another crash sensor...installed it and it still flashes! ??
