Interesting, need to see numbers for this.

Is the idea basically to offer a production CNC'd head that's a noteworthy improvement over their standard heads, similar to what AFR hs been offering for years?

I see Summit has changed their website layout, meaning that if I want to buy anything from them again, I have to figure out how to use the new site.

      Lovely.

That they have. It still works mostly the same, but stuff seems a little bit harder to find somehow. They also have a few products that aren't included in the searches at all (such as the Summit TV cable correctors), and sometimes my more simplistic search terms fail to give results.

            I would imagine this:

            Quantity Sold individually.
Puts those things in a whole different ballpark IMHO.

Yep, 2 grand for a set is a bit stiff. I like to build the whole engine for around that much.

              At least they come assembled.

Seems like they finally figured out how good AFR heads are and decided to make a very similar set

....and charge an extra 30 percent....while retaining the crappy port-matched exhaust ports.

Lovely tags by the way....especially in a tech forum.

                          Erm, no.

This new edelbrock head has a valve angle of 18*

All AFR heads are standard/stock valve angle of 20*

This edelbrock head has an intake runner of 185cc, same as an AFR 185, but thats where the similarity ends.

The edelbrock head has a 75cc exhaust runner, the AFR 185 has a 68cc exhaust runner.

Given the fact that the valve angle is altered, the port length is different, ACSA is different, and MCSA is different.

Much more important things to look at than intake runner cc my friend. Hope that clears a little up.

I was just meaning they finally decided to do a full CNC head no other similarities intended
