    05S28 Speed Control System Modification

I checked my VIN on the FORD website and got the 05S28 Speed Control System Modification notice. I have read a little about this recall but I cannot get it fixed right now. Can I do anything to prevent any problems from this issue? Un-plug or deactivate something, pull a fuse?

    Thanks

I got a notice for this in the mail but haven't bothered to take action.

I don't know what you can to buy yourself time, but at my Ford dealership the whole repair took all of 20 minutes.

Disconnect the harness leading to the cruise control servo. Then electric tape the connector and the servo if you want to... ya know keep it clean and what not.

The dealers did this until the part manufacturer caught up with demand.

Then they replaced the units er something... My 97 was involved and I never remembered to go in for it.
