    Supercharge a Merc?

I'd never do it 'cause i'm poor...

anyone around here done it on a 4.6 in a GM?

I'd like to hear about it...if it was to be done, what the hell do you have to do when you buy a supercharger? like, what else do you have to buy?

my last vehicle was an 86 f150 with a 70 351c at about 436 horses..it was all motor. so coming down from that to this, talk about upgrade in luxury downgrade in speed!

I don't have a supercharger, but a good friend of mine does. He has a 2000 Grand Marquis HPP.

    His car runs low 13s.

The Allen kit comes with everything you need to make the supercharger work. It is a very good idea to get forged internals. The crappy hypoeutectic pistons that we have are no good with a power adder. They will break, no question.

HPP = Handling And Performance Package...

Usually has better swaybars, lower rearend gears, the 16" HPP wheels, etc...

            Linky...

He runs the 9 PSI kit. The good thing is he does all the work himself.

HPP - Handling and Performance Package

            • Dual exhaust
            • Revised springs & shocks, larger rear swaybar (21mm), rear air springs
            • Power steering fluid cooler
            • Cast aluminum lacy-spoke wheels
            • Steeper non-locker gears (3.27 for most years, 3.55 for a short time in 2000-2001)

            Here's his last timeslips.

The link I posted has the cost.

                9 PSI $4499

then add on the price for forged internals.

I honestly have no idea how much it would cost to install, I would just do it myself (or die trying).

without forged internals, i would only run the 6 psi kit.

I wouldn't do either without forged internals. Hypoeutectic will break with any boost. It's not if it's when.
