    tranny pan

    tomorrow i plan on pulling christine's tranny, just gotta move her to a flat spot in front of the house,lol. i'll get some twosome shots with her and shifty too if i can borrow my moms camera. ii'm kinda broke this week so the tranmission will not be going in after its pulled. reason being when i drop shiftys tranny i want to do the rear main seal, and i would rather wait to get the part before i put the tranmission in. now my question is, will upgrading the pan to a larger capacity help me any? and if it does, i'm assuming not to go with a chrome pan because,iirc chrome retains heat? and if thats correct is there an aod pan thats a deeper capacity and also has a spot for a tranny temp gauge? if not no big deal becausei can always pipe one in with the cooler lines, and i also know most aftermarket pans have drain plugs.

    my main concern is if increasing the capacity of the pan will help prolong the life of the tranny and whether i should get an aluminum or a chrome pan. would the pan haveing fins help with the cooling at all either? :dunno: :dunno:

    the stock pan is fine.......install a beefy transmission cooler.....that would be money well spent

      i'll prob. do that. main reason i was gonna get another pan was the drain plug. i could always do that down the line. now for the aftermarket cooler, where would i mount that?

        I am thinking of getting one for mine after I get the trans looked at. Keeps making this squeeking/scraping/high pitched noise when I accelerate.
