    replaced manifold

    Is there any way for me to know id the faulty factory manifold was ever replaced on my car without having a mechanic take a look at it? any number or codes i Should look for?

    Yes. The old one looks like this:



    And the new one looks like this:



    Note the aluminum portion at the front on the new style manifold that's made of plastic on the old one.

          No need for a mechanic if you need to replace it... there's plenty of good tech articles out there. I found mine in the junkyard for $25 and it took me 2 hours to swap it out.

            Would it benefit for me to replace the all aluminum one on my 94 MGM, with a newer model.

              only if it was a PI intake. and then you'd either have to have the PI heads or the adapter plates for it. No. I'd stick with it.

                Yeah, you lose torque going to the newer design intake.

                  plus teh egr tube would have to be shorted, and it would just be a PITA,
