I have got a 90 Town car. It is in good shape. I will either part our or sell complete. I was going to use the rebuilt tranny but found out that it wont work in my car. But the car has 120K miles. The 5.0L needs head gaskets. The guy I got it from said it poped a Radiator hose and ran hot. The interior is like a grayish color. It has the cloth seats. Just let me know if anyone is interested in anything. I will sell the parts cheap!

Does it have the tubular-style exhaust maniolds? (not cast iron)
If so and if in good condition I'm looking for a set.

If you dont sell the fan shroud/coolant tank and the washer fluid reservoir you can install them on your car!
Does it have the automatic truck closer?

Brandon
12-15-2009, 03:26 PM
Yes. It does have the push button trunk release.

87gtVIC
12-15-2009, 03:35 PM
NO not that. I mean if you were to close the trunk and you bring the trunk to just about closing does it then finish the job by itself? If it does have that and everything works I would be very interested in pictures of the entire assembly to see if it is compatable with my car.

I'm sorry. It's been a hard day today. I'm starting to mis read stuff. And NO I'm not on drugs! LOL. Just tired. But yeah I'll check and see if it does. I can't remember if it did or not. But I will let ya know before tonight is over with.

personally I'd drop an HO in it and roll with it. Those are nice cars.

even without the HO I really like the 90 Town Car because it has the 5.0 but with the updated body.

EDIT: Do these arm rests have the cup holders that fold out?

Brandon

Okay. I had gotten pictures. I had took a picture of the trunk motor, the interior, and the car. Just let me know.

Yeah. I had kept the 3g alt off my Mercury I had. So really don't need this one. But I am going to keep the Radiator off of it. It looks so clean on the inside of it. I am also going to keep the trunk carpet and the trunk weather striping. It looks new as well. That is if it will work on my Crown Vic.

And 85crownHPP I will let ya know if he doesn't fall through

I hate to be more of a nuisance but so far the trunk closer is looking like a go! I just need a picture with the motor removed from the bracket. It appears you will only have to remove three bolts. I need to be sure of that plate the motor is bolting to will be compatible with my trunk bolts. Also a picture of the trunk latch please on the actual trunk lid. I just want to make sure everything would work with my ride. I am very interested. And does the armrests have the cupholders?

Brandon
12-15-2009, 07:06 PM
I am not sure about the armrests. I'd have to look to be sure.

Oh my I have to pull them off and take pictures of them for ya. Man that's gonna cost ya extra. I gotta make $60 an hour. LOL. Just kidding. I'm think about doing that tonight. What size bolts do you think that is? Looks to like 7/16 or 1/2 inch. Anyhow I'll go check it if ya got some time. Wont take long

87gtVIC
12-15-2009, 07:10 PM
lol thank you. My guess would be 8 mm. No rush man.

Brandon
12-15-2009, 07:42 PM
Alright. I got it taken off. The bolt size was a 11mm. Here are the pictures

Is the hood ornament still intact?

Brandon
12-15-2009, 08:38 PM
Yeah I know it. But that's okay. There's more out there. I'm sure I'l probably end up with one some day

Oh and 87gtvic it does not have the cup holders in the arm rest.

Brandon

I'm thinking that is. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be. I would have noticed it if it wasn't.

Got any pictures of the interior?

87gtVIC
12-16-2009, 04:20 AM
Okay everything still looking good. I just need one more picture of the bracket that is still bolted to the lower part of the trunk (the bracket that was holding the motor in place) That is the only piece keeping me from making a decision. I need to see how that bracket bolts to the trunk well.

Brandon
12-16-2009, 06:47 AM
I hope this will work for you. LOL. I will get another picture of it. Would anyone else like to see anything before a take a picture?

87gtVIC
12-16-2009, 07:01 AM
Yeah I would like to see what condition your trunk bumpers are in (located on both front corners of the trunk and look like little spiral thingys that screw in and out and are rubber as well as the little black plastic covers that are screwed in above the seat bolts right on the floor. I would need 1 complete seat set of those covers and screws (two for the front and two for the back). And did the trunk motor have a plastic cover?

Brandon
12-16-2009, 04:11 PM
No the trunk motor did not have a plastic cover. I will get some more pics of those items for ya.

87gtVIC
12-16-2009, 04:17 PM

Brandon

okay the bracket does not have the same mounting hole but Iam sure I can rectify that with a drill gun and bits :pilot:

the seat bolt covers are not the same as the ones on my car so I will have to pass on that but I would like that one good trunk bumper (the one that looks not mashed to death) as well as the entire trunk closer assembly

This is what I would like:

the trunk pull down motor along with the connector and a foot or so of the harness
the trunk pull down motor bracket that is still bolted to the cars trunk
the upper latch assembly with the sensor and one foot or so of the harness
all of the hardware to bolt everything up
as well as the one good trunk bumper

And I guess PM me pictures of everything removed so I can verify that is all that I want and give me the price as well. I will pm you first my address so you can get an idea on shipping.

Thank you so much for your help thus far and your patience in putting up with my questions, I am all excited on attempting the trunk muncher mod.

well I had seen a Crown Vic today sitting in this guys yard. I turned around and checked on it. He is wanting to sell it. The body is banged up on the driver side. He had left the windows cracked so it's getting wet on the inside. He said he did that in the summer time so it wouldn't get hot on the inside. But anyways the car is gray with gray cloth interior. He said he parked it due to the alternator went bad. But he said it ran great. I am not sure if I want to fix it and sell it or just part it out? Oh and it is a 86 model. Is there anbody needing any parts off this car? I will probably pick it up Sunday.

Brandon

CheeseSteakJim
12-27-2009, 02:04 PM
Have you checked for the autodim rear view yet?

Brandon
12-27-2009, 02:09 PM
Fuck! Man I'm sorry. I forgot all about it. I will look at it this evening and let you know for sure by tonight. I promise this time.

Brandon
12-27-2009, 04:12 PM
Aight man. It does have the auto dim mirrow. I had removed it from the windsheild. I'm not sure of where the wiring is going to. I thought it was to the auto dimmer switch but it's not. But I have removed the light switch and the dimmer switch. Just let me know if your still interested in it. I can get you pictures of it.

I'd like to see pictures of it so I can possibly figure out how I might be able to attach my autodim highbeam sensor to the bottom of it. Is there any sort of slot or anything? I'm not sure if it used the same sensor as the box Town Cars.

Brandon
12-28-2009, 06:30 PM
No it doesn't have a slot. It has a srew that srews into the mirror. I'm sorry I didnn't get any pictures of it today. I will tomarrow. It's been really busy today. Grandpa had cut his thumb by borrowing one of our saw salls. You know how the Dewalt saw is? Where it has the little allen bolt holding the blade in? Well he had put his thumb there without realizing it. And of course it busted it open. Tore his thumb nail off. The top of his thumb was just about off. They had to put 8 stiches in it. It also busted the bone in his thumb. So now he's gotta go back tomarrow for Exrays and probably surgery... But yeah I'll take a picture of it tomarrow.

And I am srapping it out now if anyone needs any parts!!! It will probably be going to the mean green eating machine this week.

Hi Brandon,
how much for the washer bottle and overflow tank? Do I also need the fan shroud for it to fit my 87 CP? The shipping would be to Greer, SC 29650. I think I bought a set of blue door panels off you last year. Thanks

Not to step on anyone's toes, but yes you would need the fan shroud as well because they are specific to the 1990 Town Cars.

Shit Man, I would have taken it even completely stripped down to the Body/Frame. Wouldn't be much trouble for me to completely re-build it. It is what I love to do after all. Been wantin a 90 Towny for awhile now, lol. If you ever come across another one let me know, I will definitely pay you more than the scrapyard would for it.
