Should be able to go to a local parts store and get a gape gauge. Looks lik this. However, some particulay brand do not need to be gapped. I just put new ones in and I gapped them .046" (1.168mm) Stupid standard system.

Ok then, tell me what (1/16"*1/64")/1/128"

Or you can use nice numbers like (1mm*.25mm)/.125mm

If you think the first is better, then you failed that drug test 10 years ago for a reason. Just jokin

i will have to agree that the entire rest of the world uses metric...and the USA says FUCK YOU! It's easy because we have used it for so long, but metric is even easier.

When I asked the proper way, I did not mean measuring in standard or metric.

I would like to know what the proper way is to measure the gap.

How do I use the gap tool?
Measuring what? Which distance? Between which points?
What is the best tool to use?

Some believe strong in wire gauge, others think the best of feeler gauge.

What is the best (safest) way to set the correct gap?

                Thanks,

Feeler is easiest way. See the sloped rim around the disk in the picture? That is the guage part.

Here is the link to the page with the picture, should be everything you need and don't need to know

If the gap is too large, tap down on the side electrode .... with a light hammer or wrench until it's the right size. If it's too small, bend the side up slightly with the flat tip of a screwdriver inserted into the gap. Tap and bend until the gap is right.

                    LOL WUT ?
