Should be able to go to a local parts store and get a gape gauge. Looks lik this. However, some particulay brand do not need to be gapped. I just put new ones in and I gapped them .046" (1.168mm) Stupid standard system.
i will have to agree that the entire rest of the world uses metric...and the USA says FUCK YOU! It's easy because we have used it for so long, but metric is even easier.
If the gap is too large, tap down on the side electrode .... with a light hammer or wrench until it's the right size. If it's too small, bend the side up slightly with the flat tip of a screwdriver inserted into the gap. Tap and bend until the gap is right.
