I have the timing set just below where it detonates already.
As soon as this exhaust rots out I will go duals, maybe some salt water will help!!!

I read KN is only good for high revs and can cause other problems anyways.

Would better plugs and a stronger coil do any good?

You should be able to change the heads without changing the computer to get some extra performance. Its not going to be a rocket but better flow=more power. Also like Tom said, good dual exhaust with headers will help too. Changing the rear to something like a 3.55 or a 3.73 also would be a good idea.

yeah theres not much you can do besides better heads and exhaust without getting into a lot.
You could possibly swap in a CFI mustang cam and computer too... tweak the fuel pressure regulator and even have to throttle bores machined larger... but CFI will never see real power do to its itty bitty internal fuel rail.

I know of a guy who pulled the CFI body apart and removed the screens from the tops of the injectors and noticed that his car no longer had any off-idle hesitation. If you have the time to take the CFI body apart, it's worth a try.

I really don't notice any hesitation. I only have 34000 miles so that may be why.
