Whenever the gas pedal is applied, I can hear a faint hissing sound. Any ideas?

Couple questions to help narrow it down.
What gives you the idea it's a fuel injector problem? Do you have a cold air intake on there? If yes they normally do have a hiss, especially when you give it gas. If no, and you have the stock crap, check the condition of the air intake system, the rubber hose going to the throttle body. Stuff in between the air filter and the throttle body (that might throw a check engine light since it would be finding air entering the engine that wasn't seen by the MAF sensor)
Any change in the way the motor acts when you hear this noise compared to when you couldn't hear it?
If you want to narrow down the noise, open the hood, take the throttle, which should be on the passenger side in the middle, and move it. You should be able to recreate the noise under the hood if it does it every time.

No check engine light. The engine never has any hesitation and there's always smooth power delivery.

True...I can't hear it when there's music playing :)

Check the parking brake release under the dash as it is known to come undone and produce a hiss along with the main vacuum fitting on the firewall.

as well as the parking brake release solenoid (vacuum actuator) actually popping it's bladder and hissing itself. Hence the one on my 88 MGM is not connected currently.
