    Lincoln Logs (Tubular exhaust manifolds)

It is my understanding that these bolt right up to both the heads and to the exhaust flange? Also I can run the 130* bend wire ends I have on now correct? Just looking to free up a bit of flow in my exhaust without breaking the bank on new exhaust work. I basically need another project to keep me from killing myself this summer from boredom. Also if anybody knows where I can get a pair of these for not too much money that would be cool as well. I know this was posted somewhere else, if you would like you can move it, I just couldn't find the thread.

    Thanks a bunch,
    -JR

They will bolt up to the stock cats. No idea about the plug wires though.

And if you had a hard time changing the spark plugs on the p.side wait till you get to change the bolts for the manifolds.. All that smog b.s. and a.c stuff takes up a lot of room on that side.

yeah, you use the regular plug wires that work with the iron logs.

Install the smog parts in the trash, problem solved

I'm still curious as if these even make a noticeable difference. I think the weight savings is probably more noticeable than the better flow.

I seem to recall being told by 88grandmarq that the 90 TC manifolds don't flow any better than the cast iron ones. Other than the wieght savings, thier claim to fame is allowing the use of P-heads with the stock H-pipe.

Seems to me like this is the real advantage. They are lighter for sure, but i doubt the flow is much if at all better. But they will work with the p heads, and are a bolt in item if you want to retain stock downpipes if you're on a budget. Look a little better than iron logs if thats a factor for anyone too.

i'll have to slice open a cast iron log to compare after i put the headers on mrmarquis car.......the lincoln logs look less restrictive to me

I don't know for a fact that they flow any better or worse than the cast iron manifolds. typically factory exhaust parts are not known for their great flow.

My decision to use Lincoln manifolds was purely based on fitment. they are OEM parts that I could get easily and inexpensively and they fit correctly, with out having to modify and rig a bunch of stuff or relocate the o2 sensors.
they also re-use the factory exhaust hardware, so I could retain the stock air cleaner assembly. Since I already had a fairly new, stock, dual exhaust set up, I didn't see the need in spending the money to replace everything.

I also massaged the Lincoln manifolds a little bit before installation. I ground down the welds inside the exhaust port flanges and opened and cleaned up the collector outlet.

Alright... I won't waste my money then.... Just keep saving for that 408 stroker... Im going to investigate some long tube headers for that........ Im predicting a very sharp pain in my ass with that one. I know they are going to need to be custom.
