if i advance the stock HO cam 4* on my gt40P setup how much would it drop my peak torque/hp because this things pulls like a demon up to at least 5800rpm and probly more but doesn't really kick in until 2500-3000.

I've also been told its like 400ish rpm. If someone has desktop dyno, you can probably punch the numbers in and get a guesstimate of what the results are.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

alright i was thinking around 400 rpms also, I guess i'll go ahead and try to advance it with the 1.7RR's and still keep enough PTV clearence, while i'm changing out the head gaskets.
I will be gettting a 2400 non-lockup stall put in with the tranny buildup early october so hopefully advancing the cam will get me in the right area RPM wise...and it pulls harder and harder at least up to 5800 rpms and i'de rather not go up past 5500 so hopefully i can use a little more of the power it has to offer.
thanks, andyFinally have an on the books porting/custom fab business!

Its really hard to say, take it to the track and find out. At 12 degrees initial my car is a whole second slower than it is at 14 degrees initial. But every engine is different,I have every bolt-on you can have minus a SC. I have 2 89 Vics one runs 12.63 consistant and the other runs low 15.3's they are both tuned differently but the same overall one just has a .30 over Roller 351 EFI with a e303,the other is the same setup .30 over 302 with a stock H.O. cam. Both cars are Mass Air if that offers any help. I do not know everything im just sharing what I have going on over here.sigpic351w .030, B303, 1.6 Roller Rockers, GT40P Heads Mild Port Job,351w Lightning Lower & Explorer Upper,65mm TB, Custom CAI, 24# Injectors, Adj FPR, 1/2 Phenolic Spacer, TPS Enhancer, Shift Kit, 2400 Stall, Hi-Rev Govenor, MMC Alcoa Driveshaft, 3.73 Trac Lok, Underdrive Pulleys, Electric Fan, MSD Street Fire Coil, MSD 6AL Ignition 12.35 @114 mph spinning through 1st gear

My 89 has a HO cam with gt40p's advanced 4* and it pulls pretty good all around. Obviously it pulls better after 2500 but it has no problem spinning them off the line even launching from idle. It shifts at 5k and still feels like it's pulling strong.2020 F250 - 7.3 4x4 CCSB STX 3.55's - BAKFlip MX4

sweet, well it turn's out I couldn't pull off enough PTV clearance advancing it with 1.7 RR's so i put it back straight up. Just got the motor runnning again today and looks like so far its running good. Finally have an on the books porting/custom fab business!
