I almost have my pile of parts together. I picked up a 95 roller 351W motor tonight. All I need is a good set of rods. I don't have much faith in factory Windsor rods. I have a set of forged slugs and I will use Victor Jr heads on this build. I want to try and fit it under the factory hood so I am going to try a Weiand Stealth and then a Performer RPM intake as a second choice if the Weiand is too high. I would Love to use a Victor Jr intake but there is no chance of that fitting. I am going to use a TFS Stage 1 cam and I have a set of TFS 1.7 roller rockers.

I would really like to get it in my 91 Crown Vic and drive it to Scottfest. It may first see some use in my 91 Mustang earlier in the year with a TKO 5 speed behind it. The AOD from my Capri will be behind it in the Crown Vic. I have a 4500 stall converter and it will be nice to have an engine that can take full advantage of it.

Well, please do this.
It should run its stones off.
Maybe its a little early to be asking, but what are you using for a carb? Vac or mechanical secondaries?**2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 5.0/ 6 spd/ 3.73s, 20K Cruiser

i was able to fit a rpm airgap under the hood, but you have to use an air cleaner with a very low stack height, cut your supports and use a bolt instead of a stud to hold the air cleaner down. so your Weiand should work, just might have to try a few different air cleaner bases. matter of fact, i may have had a nitrous plate under it at the time also.http://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

I will have to check on my Dad's Cyclone to see what we used on that one. It was a very low profile air cleaner that had a drop base yet the top had plenty of clearance to the vents. I got it from the local circle track speed shop.

I had a 3" open element air cleaner on my 351 car. The intake was an EGR Edelbrock Performer, with the 1" EGR plate, an Edlbrock 600, and a flate base (no drop) air cleaner.
I left the air cleaner stud about an inch long, and it just scratched the underhood support when I closed the hood.
I ran into an issue with the Monte Carlo that I wrench on, where the air cleaner base was dropped so much that the choke flap (750 DP) couldn't open all the way. It was a brand name air cleaner too. Of course, if you're running a chokeless HP, that isn't really a concern.**2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 5.0/ 6 spd/ 3.73s, 20K Cruiser
