Totally insane swap thought : 2.3 Turbo!!!!

What if one was to swap in a 2.3 4cyl turbo into a Panther Waggin?

Would it be like a retro Eco Boost?

This would be totally out of the box thinking, yes?

I think my blood sugar is out of kilter.....

That motor moved the T-Bird to over 125. I had a friend with a 88 Bird and it moved. Half the weight might make up for the slightly less horsepower. I think they were 190 horses or so.

I dont see why it would be slow build one with the 300 hp recipe when they make 300rwhp they are usually in the 250-275rwtq range it would probably be faster than alot of the cars here.

I've mentioned this before, I think a 2.3 turbo 5sp in a base model 88+ would make a great DD.

Why not turbo a V8 instead?

I'd put money that a turbo 5.0 would get better milage than a turbo 2.3

Ya, but I'd have way to much fun with that to be getting any kind of mileage.

Actually, why not a HSO 2.3 for extra raw power!

Ford should have put the Eco-Boost engine in the Panthers. More power and less emissions to keep the tree-huggers happy...
