    colony park vs. country squire

how much is the same (exterior) between these two models? based on pix, looks like the front header panel is different, but how 'bout the rest from the fenders back?

same year span? ('79-'91 is it?)

    thanks.

header panels and bumpers changed from 1987-1988 along with the squire hood .... squire hood uses same hood as grand marquis and colony park used from 1979-1991... tail lights are different between them also

the colony park tail lights wrap around to the side for the marker and are sunk into the side of the 1/4 panel.........the country squire tail lights are flush with the back of the 1/4 panels and they have a separate side marker lamp.

working on yucatechs wagon we found the side marker sockets with no bulbs while checking and tidying wiring, i guess they used the same wiring harness too.

1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.

i belive the hoods are only same on 88-91 boxes. the tailgates, doors, front fenders and trim are the same. and the lighting harness is shared between the two models. i bet you would find the bild sockests for the B pillar coach lamps on a vic too.

The trim for the woodgrain is slightly different too. It should interchange, but the CS stuff is woodgrain printed with a plastic wrapper on it. the CP stuff is chromed with a woodgrain insert. it actually weathers significantly better than the CS stuff does. Looks better too I think.

yea, a decent amount of sun exposure will cause the squire trim to peel and whatnot. pretty nasty. and i agree, the colony park trim does look better IMO.

so is the rear quarter the same (CP vs. CS) other than the taillight cutout (wrap vs. non-wrap)?

and if i read this correctly, the header panel would be the same on a pre-'87 CS?

does the CS fender have the cutout for the turn signal cornering lamp like the CP?

those are the three main pieces i'll need.

the rear quarters are same other than the tail light area. and as far as the fenders with cornering lamps, both mercss and fordss came with them but, were an option for boxes. so its a luck of the draw kinda deal.

I've never noticed that before! You can even see them on mine (where the woodgrain has stretched and split)
