I'm counting on being there with Vicky again, I'm planning on bringing the Pretzels of awesomeness since they disappear every year before I can have any at the actual event! Good thing I have a few on the way to Skippyville. I'll probably convoy with Phil, this year we're leaving freaking early! I wanna hit the dragstrip this year!!

Join us for the 7th annual ScottFest.
Hopefully. That would make my 4th...
I am really going to try and avoid having the Dodge this year. I may bring my Dad's whale...
I am dubious that the white car will be making it this year. Maybe if I get the speedometer corrected (although I rarely obey the limit anyway); still probably have to stop for gas a couple times. I just don't see it as being a comfortable road car with the 3.73s, NLU converter, MIA gas gauge, etc.
I am thinking of taking it up to Vermont in June, so that may determine whether it is a road trip car or not.

That's easy enough. Just need the pigtail from a Mass Air Car. And a mass air computer. Are you having problems with speed density and your engine?

I certainly hope so.
The way my past few summers have gone, I am trying to not get too fired up about the trip, but this looks like my best shot at making it so far. We had an unusually wet spring so far and my basement was flooded. This delayed my wrenching for 6 weeks so far. If everything falls into place, worst case scenario is I drive my '02 out there. Best case is I get this 351W together and in my '91. If I can tow my Capri home from California with a Cleveland 4V powered Ranchero which I bought the week I left, I should certainly be able to trust towing a trailer behind my '91 with a fresh engine. I will load up my spare parts and bring them with. I am not going to tow anything with my '02 until I get 3.73s in it.

Do you mean Ford or any car?
In means of Ford (that I am aware of)
If anyone's bringing a 351w or larger in their car, them. If anyone has a 302 bored .030" over/ or a stroker in their car, them.
.020" is me haha. (Nate of the North if he brings the White box). I wanna hit the track and see what my car can do (after rear swap).

(Nate of the North if he brings the White box).
Its pretty safe to say I won't have my car this year.
Its not like 2 in^3 makes a damn bit of difference...
My shit will run in the 13s this year, come hell or high water. But thats slow.
I was planning on having an 11 second ride by next summer, but plans have changed. I was having a hard time deciding whether I was going to pursue a 385 series swap (I was thinking of build a 532 inch stroker), a big inch windsor (427), or a more high tech late model engine swap.
Instead I am going to quit wasting my time and money, and go back to school and get my masters. That will take my time away, and keep me from building much.

I still have most of my vacation time for the year, so I may take an extra day or so. We shall see.

Rear suspension has always been stock...I'm thinking a diff swap (back to the old trac-lok) and possibly gears (3.55 or 3.27) and leave it alone. For the front I'm tempted to toss in the rear thunderbird springs and see how it does. I do want to drop it a bit and just leave the car as a cruiser. I still will be building the motor up when I can, and tossing on the blower. I might do the IRS eventually. But just not anytime soon.

I am way behind on building something to drive there. I had a 3 week plan which has gotten shot to hell with family and house stuff taking up my time. I also figured that I would have a fresh body to build by now. At a minimum I would have to do a rear end and tranny on my 2002. I didn't plan to do that until I got the other car running with a Windsor. I have had a hard time even finding 2 axle shafts in decent shape for my 2002. I do not plan on buying new as that was not in my build budget. I am leaking from both axles even with "repair" bearings. That was a waste of $60.

I believe I will be coming this year. I will have my truck, because I think I will be bringing parts. I'd really like to bring the CS, because I know I'd set a new personal best time for the trip from my house to Scott's. Nick, if you need help cleaning it, ring me, or text me. Last time I saw it it was a little dirty. Indoors, though, and thats what really matters.
I was going to ride out with you, but folks are requesting parts, so I'll have to take my truck. Maybe we could meet up on the way down, though. I was thinking of stopping and getting some more fireworks, on the trip...

Last time you saw it, it was more than a little dirty. I've sinced washed it thoroughly, but the paint still has minor stains in it, so if I can afford it I might have it professionally buffed and waxed prior to leaving. That'll cost less than buying a new buffer (mine is terrible) and doing it myself (I'm not very happy with my own skill level at buffing). It's caught a lot of scratches and a couple chips since you saw it last too... how they got there is ironically unexplainable by the rest of my family.
In regards to riding with me - I don't know what parts you're bringing, but if they'll fit in the trunk of my car then you're welcome to put them there and still ride if you want. If not, then yeah I was going to suggest we meet up and form a small convoy. I usually take Rt. 8 from my house but I can meet you in South Windsor if you want and we can just go straight to 84.
My girlfriend will be joining me and I'm trying to get another friend to come but he's a bit of a flake when it comes to making just about any plans so I'm doubting it. We're going to probably bring a 17" DVD player for the ride down that's hooked into my stereo in case anyone wants to watch a movie.
Bowman:
Nah, the Knight is a pain in the ass to drive for 4-5 hours straight with no exhaust, a/c, or floor... plus it hasn't run since before winter due to some ignition problems, and it's being put away for a much-needed body overhaul. I already have a full new floor pan ready to go into it. Not to mention I got fed up with my first love sitting half-completed in the garage... and I couldn't honestly bring a Chevy to ScottFest again, could I? :D
John:
Yeah, I couldn't fix the placement of the engine so I just swapped an Econoline front end onto it.

I've restricted myself to not race my CS until it has 1000 miles on it...
Right now it has 340 on it.
I doubt it will have 1000 miles on it before August, anyway.
I'll definitely be racing it this fall (in the good air). I shouldn't have any issues running in the high 12s, totally stock. Weather and traction permitting. Many folks have run even in the mid to high 12s, totally stock. I saw where a stone stock (save for ET streets) 2011 CS went 12.30 at 110, with 3.31 gears. Driver mod. I am somewhat versed with a stick, not that its that difficult to shift one of these cars quickly, as the stock shifter is not half bad.
With my planned bolt ons (cat back w/ x pipe), tune, intake, shifter and bracket, and sticky tires, I should have a low 12 second car, with relative ease. Other than getting a different set of wheels and tires (stock, but wider, or GT500 wheels), maybe some lowering, and removing the stripes, I have nothing planned for this car until it goes out of warranty.

I don't know where you're coming from, but if you get near them, http://www.badaboomfireworkspa.com/home/index.jsp is the place to go!!!
Are fireworkical type festivities welcome in Skippyville?

The address is 35 N Tremont St, Tremont, PA 17981. However, GPS seems to take you elsewhere.
Google maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=35+N.+Tremont+St,+Newtown,+PA&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x89c5f0c5857c09f5:0x2fa2263a2b3e72b4,35+N+T remont+St,+Newtown,+PA+17981&gl=us&ei=OY0tTr-fJ4XLsQKR66mRCw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBUQ8gEwAA
N 40.65475 W07635061 are the coordinates I have saved in my GPS.
Easiest thing to do is take exit 112 off of I-81 North, turn right on Rt. 25, left onto 209, and the left into the driveway past the top of the hill.

Instead of saying Tremont PA, use Newtown, Scott says that that seems to work for the dumb GPS. We're normally at the house, and then we all convoy to the dragstrip.

Well, rad is blown, heater core is blown, diff is toast, tires are bald, interior is apart, exhaust is leaking at the collector..... And I'm too damn busy to get any of it fixed. Oh, and the alignment is F'd.
Saturday I have drunken whiffleball. I might come up Friday, but I'm not sure if I'll be helping to set up for Saturday. Or working-because of these moron politicians.

Yeah, it's mad 'cause I don't spend any time with it anymore. Just sits and rusts in the driveway- the only time it gets out anymore it to make dump runs or trips to home depot.
Just a few stutters, prolly just bad gas. Though as bad as shape as it's in, it's been going for 2 years as is.

It looks as if it does. The trim that goes around the speedometer also wraps around the headlight switch knob.

or you can pull the knob off it's shaft and leave the headlight switch in. then just pop the knob back on the shaft after you put the trim on.
