as I understand it they're cheap to rebuild. I see even somewhat recently-rebuilt ones for as little as $300; $600 on the high end (*just* rebuilt, car scrapped for other issues).
My own transmission got rebuilt at 100,000 miles fwiw.
So 90,000 mile core... I dunno. $200? $150?

90k on a well maintained one with clean red fluid, or 90k on one with original fluid thats turning brown? It matters, but probably in the 200-300 range. A good rebuild job will run you around a grand. A poorly maintained trans might be dead by 90k, so unless you can test drive the car or know its history, its a gamble.

i've been keeping it as a spare but someone offered me 225 on craigslist.

meh-- take it. Think you'll ever need it yourself as a core/spare?
Pressing for more money will just leave it unsold, if you no longer need it and want it out of your garage/basement.

I'd take it to clear up space...and 225 would be nice..

225 would be a fair selling price. Just depends if you need the cash or a spare transmission more.

well thats the dilemma.. The trans in my car now has survived alot of abuse but has an unknown amount of miles. i'm thinking with my luck it will go out right after i sell the damn thing.
